Just as all multinational companies, our company purchases its escalators, moving walkways from Asian suppliers (SJEC or HYUNDAI). These apparatuses have European type certificate and qualification and meet the requirements of shopping malls, stations or sports facilities as well. They are made in outdoor, vandal resistant or basic design as well.
Escalator is a powered version of traditional stair, where man does not need to step because the steps are moved by a motor, so it is easier to negotiate the level difference. It is usually used in metros and shopping malls (sometimes in panel blocks as well) in order to facilitate journey or shopping. It runs at about 30 meter/minute, although it may change for various purposes.
Moving walkway: its operating principle is similar to that of the escalator, but there are not steps here; the whole walkway is in the same plane. Its advantage is that it is easier to transport greater packages, devices (e.g. baby carriage or shopping trolley) on it. Its disadvantage is that its slope is not so great than that of the escalator, so more place is necessary for it to negotiate the level difference.
